Design from Concept to working drawings stage, what still is the largest Club house to date ever built in China, encompassing, a sea pool (salt water pool) and wave machine and (Fiji inspired) artificial sand beaches complete with real palm trees, with hydro slide, Sauna, and spas (public & VIP private rooms),

private massage areas, public locker rooms and showers, NBA standard basketball court, squash and badminton courts gymnasiums, yoga and ballet dance studios, medical centre, public restaurants,

with private dining rooms, health drink bars, coffee shop, tea house, internet cafe, child minding creche and an "Ayers Rock" inspired rock climbing area.

Chongqing is a city of some 30 million people, I never saw one other white face, the whole time I was working on this project.

It was, as expected quite a daunting challenge, as being a Westerner, you were constantly scrutinized and challenged as to the why and where for of your design decisions.

A relationship had to be developed, and quickly if this project was to succeed, and I believe that I rose to this challenge, as the clients had nothing but praise for our work.

My Translator and CEO was patient and backed me all the way in all my design decisions, smoothing the way forward, in order to bring some kind of semblance of order, to what was sometimes quite a chaotic, frenetic project.
